     The Edmonton & Area 567 Club January meeting minutes

The club President was not present due to prior commitments,  Club VP was also absent so the meeting was chaired by our Treasurer, Jim K. The November minutes were then reviewed & accepted by those present.

The treasurer’s report was then given & club balance/account for January is Ok! Only outstanding cheque at this time is the Christmas party fee.

New Business:

The swap meet idea was discussed & the building rental ideas were pretty well scrapped. This idea is still in the works & more info to be forth coming. The swap meet committee is hard at work on this. The final deadline for this idea is February 8/2017. Response for volunteers to assist in this endeavor is Great! Thank-you to all of you. In the meantime all members discussed the areas of vendor fees, admission charges, washrooms and etc. These concerns were addressed and with the members present, these were taken care of and well noted.

The February meeting will have a guest speaker, presenting a unique business concept. Mr. John Kramer will present his mobile Dyno machine & his business “Devon Dyno” to our group.

The 17^th Annual Bowties vs the World Show n Shine is slated for August 26/2017 with a Rain-out date August 27. This year’s event will have a different approach as various Children Charities will benefit from our event instead of just one. This new idea was accepted by all members present.

A proposed shop tour to fellow member Norm Messervey’s Metal shop is planned.. Date & time TBA.

Club website :

In December we received approx. 7000 visitors to the site. The most viewed section that month was the Drag racing videos (that Kellen has provided) & members vehicles. As was stated before, since we have revamped the site, there has been 80,000 plus visitors viewing our site to date.

Old Business:

We still have club T-shirts for sale @ $20.00 each (just pays for them to be produced) They are a Good 50/50 quality shirt in the color Black with the club logo on the back & a smaller version on the left front. Contact Jim if ya’ want one.

The 2017 CLUB DUES are now REQUIRED, an e-mail will be sent out to all members to remind them. The fee is only $25.00 per year. Those members that renewed or joined us in the fall of 2016, will have their memberships enforced till the end of 2017. (do not have to renew for 2017)

The World of Wheels car show is coming to town, March 3-5 2017. Maybe we can get some members interested in entering their “rides” under the club name. The proposed idea to have 3-4 vehicles entered with the registration fee covered by the club. More to come on this idea at the February Meeting.
