The Edmonton & Area 567 Club May general meeting Minutes
Start 7:00 p.m 11 members present
April minutes read by Club President & accepted by all in present.
Treasurer’s Report was given and was well accepted by all members..
Report on the Club’s presence at Drayton Valley & Stony Plain swap meets were presented.. The club received 3 new members and lots of exposure. We were well accepted by those who dropped by to check us out..
Roy brought out a Amsoil rep. at the April meeting, since then the club has a “ordering deal” with them. Contact Roy for more info.. Club members to receive a special Amsoil member’s card to use when purchase is ordered.
A shop Tour is slated for May 9th @ BlitzKrieg Rod & Kustoms, There will be a Club BBQ following. Start time at 11 a.m, address ia 6107-46 St. Leduc AB.
A club Request to tour the Kids with Cancer Society head office has not been answered as of yet.
New Business
Don C. has confirmed a car show date (club Appearance) at Sherwood Park Chevy on August 8th. They will donate $$$ to the Kids with Cancer Society from this event.
Reminder to All Members – Two important dates that Require members to attend!!! June 19th at TouchWood Seniors Lodge @ 6 p.m ( 50’s day) if this is anything like last year, it will be a “hoot” and on June 20th at the Alberta Railway Museum ( 24215-34 St) the club has been invited to be there to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Diesel Electric Streamliner
Locomotive and the 60th B-day of the ’55 Chevy. We need 8 or more members and their Tri-5 Chevys to BE THERE !!!
The T-shirt Concept
Still waiting for the cost on getting New club t-shirts and possible small amount of “hoodies” done. And a order of 80 events t-shirts has been decided but the cost is still “up in the air”.. The colors would be Black and some Greys..
Jim.K to check into a Bulk order of “Tri-5 Nationals” event T-shirts for the club. Looking at possible 2 dozen ordered. He will have a cost for this at the June meeting..
Bowties vs the World 2015
A update was presented by Jim K. The mall is assisting us again for this event and most if all sponsor’s from last year have confirmed their assistance. Some have come forward and paid their fee.. There will be 15 awards for this event only ( to celebrate our 15th anniversary).. the two new classes are best competition vehicle and best Pro-Street Vehicle. We are still waiting for all awards to be covered..
Roy M. to send a letter to the EPS museum, to request their 1957 Panal to attend.. Maybe also a very early “Cop Motorbike” could be asked to attend also.
He also asked the membership for the ok to have Proper flyers printed for the Event. This was ok’d by the members in attendance.
Jim has approached KMS Tools and CAPPS AutoBody Parts, as potential sponsors. No word from them yet.
A letter to NAPA Auto to supply the club a donation for a raffle prize for the Show n Shine to be completed and sent to head office.
A great idea to invited entries was presented and accepted, Flyers with our event info and a invitation to the event, All members liked the idea and accepted it. Agreement to have 200 printed was decided.
Website Info:
Jimm M & Kellen presented the Members with an update on the club’s website. The Month of April saw 1100 hits to our site, mostly from Western Canada. The most popular pages were the “Bowties vs the World” info & upcoming Events.
The meeting closed at 8:45 p.m
