Minutes of the June 5, 2013

Monthly Meeting of the Edmonton 5-6-7 Chevy Club

held at the premises of Fargo’s Restaurant located in the

Capilano Shopping Centre at 5804 Terrace Road, Edmonton, Alberta

1. Call to Order
The Meeting was Called to Order by the Vice-President, Daymion Weiss.. There were fifteen (15) members present at the Meeting..

The V.President mentioned our August 11th barbecue which will be held at the same place as last year in Devon, Alberta. He also said that 1/64 Car Drag Races will be held at the barbecue.



2. The Club’s Website
The members present who had looked at our new website on their email said that it looks good & the boys are in the right direction on improving the website…CHECK IT OUT !!



3. Camrose Cruise
The next item that was brought up by Jim K. was that the Camrose Cruise held by the Camrose members was rained out and it will be held on July 6th of this year. Still the plans of us going on a cruise to this show n shine are happening… Contact Jim if you are interested in going.



4. Bo’diddly’s Premises
One member reported that Bo’diddly`s premises that we were using is all boarded up and Richard Wheatley said that he would check into the possibility of getting the premises of Smitty’s Family Restaurant at the Westmount Shopping Centre, where we used to hold meetings for a period of about two or three years, until the premises were closed down for renovations.

Jim K. said he will check into the possibility of having our meetings at the new Kingsway Legion premises in northeast Edmonton. Or maybe hold a couple during the year at Blackjack’s Roadhouse in Nisku, AB.



5. ‘Meals and Wheels’ Organization
One member said that the ‘Meal on Wheels’ organization were having a Car Show on June 5, 2013 in Edmonton at their site.







6. Other Events
It was reported that the Edmonton Street Rods Club will have a Show and Shine on June 22nd and that Ron Hodgson Chevrolet business will have a Car Show on June 23, 2013.

A few members also advised the meeting dates of some other Show and Shine functions of which they knew.

Another member said that the Cruisers Club in St. Albert had dissolved and some of their members have formed a new Car Club named `Pecker Heads` Car Club. (Your Secretary thinks that this is a totally inappropriate name for a Car Club.)


6a Bowties vs the World
Jim reports that everything is “falling” in place & we have ALL Awards committed by those parties who want to sponsor our event. Jim is still accepting Door prizes and/or silent auction items. Contact Jim if you can help him out…
the event Posters and the new club & event banners are to be ready soon… ALL Members are asked to “pass the word” to those that they know about our event. Maybe tell other Car Clubs if they know of some about the show.. Event Flyers will be handed out at various locations…


7. Website
Next Jim K. then brought up the matter of our website & said that we need to improve on it further and ensure that the addresses of all our members are updated and are correct. Members are asked to submit their e-mail addresses to the webmaster, to get our address file updated. Many Thanks to Jimm & Kellen for their work so far on the club’s new website…



8. 50/50 Prize
This month's 50/50 draw was won by Doug Jolliffe.


The Meeting then adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
